Star Technology's BC-174 is a two-part epoxy balancing compound for use in weight addition balancing of electric motors armatures, rotors, and fans. BC-174 has a smooth, fibrous, putty-like consistency which keeps the compound from migrating during the balancing process. The two components of the BC-174, parts A and B, are mixed 1:1 by volume or by weight. BC-174 Part A Blue and BC-174 Part B Yellow are easily mixed by hand until the color is a consistent Green. The working life of the mixed BC-174 is about 15 minutes depending upon mass and temperature. Overnight, BC-174 cures to a solid polymer, which resists moisture and solvents.
