Star Technology's BC-172 is a two-part epoxy balancing compound for use in weight addition balancing of electric motors armatures, rotors, and fans. BC-172 has a smooth, fibrous, putty-like consistency which keeps the compound from migrating during the balancing process. The two components of the BC-172, parts A and B, are mixed 1:1 by volume or by weight. BC-172 Part A Blue and BC-172 Part B Yellow are easily mixed by hand until the color is a consistent Green. The working life of the mixed BC-172 is about 2 hours depending upon mass and temperature. Overnight, BC-172 cures to a solid polymer, which resists moisture and solvents. BC-172 may also be heat cured at 250 Fahrenheit (oven or heat gun).
