Permabond® LH050 is a general-purpose pipe sealant containing PTFE. It creates an immediate air-pressure seal of up to 1000 psi with only limited hand tightening. Once fully cured, its sealing performance typically reaches the burst rating of the pipe itself, and its low locking strength allows for easy disassembly.
LH050 works well on most metals, especially steel and brass, making it an excellent alternative to traditional pipe dopes and pipe tapes for sealing threaded pipe joints.
This sealant cures anaerobically, meaning it hardens when confined between metal surfaces, such as in a threaded joint. It dispenses as a smooth paste that fills the entire gap between the threads, then cures at room temperature into a solid plastic. The cured seal resists hydraulic fluids, air, gases, and chemicals. It also keeps pipes, plugs, and fittings secure against vibration, tampering, and temperature fluctuations.
