Glyptal 1201 Red Enamel is a versatile insulating varnish and enamel paint designed for electrical applications, available in 1-gallon and 1-quart containers. It features a dielectric strength of 1500 volts per mil and arc resistance of 480 seconds, allowing for thinner coatings with excellent electrical insulation. The paint withstands continuous heat up to 135°C and maintains performance after prolonged aging and heat exposure. It dries to a low-gloss, abrasion-resistant finish within about 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on conditions, and offers strong resistance to moisture, corrosion, acids, oils, and salt water. Suitable for brushing, spraying, or dipping, it meets MIL-E-22118 standards and is ideal for coating coils, transformers, motors, and other electrical components. Specific gravity ranges around 1.17 to 1.2 with a flash point near 29-32°C.
