MYLAR® EL is a thin-gauge polyester PET electrical insulation film offering high dielectric strength, chemical and moisture resistance, thermal stability, flexibility, and durable handling performance. Available in 0.48, 0.75, 0.92, 1.42, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mil thicknesses (12–125 microns), it provides typical breakdown voltages from 2.8 kV at 48 microns to 13.5 kV at 500 microns. With a dielectric constant of approximately 3.2, MYLAR® EL is suitable for electrical insulation, coating, die cutting, embossing, laminating, and electronic applications. Capacitance is application-dependent and not directly rated for this insulating film.
