Essex Brownell: Committed To Providing Essential Services
March 24, 2020
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued a memorandum on March 19, 2020 to help employers determine if they and their workers are an essential function.
Essex Brownell falls under this designation in the states of California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Oregon and Tennessee; as the products we make and distribute are critical to the other essential businesses. For example, our wire is a component of ventilators, transformers, and other key and necessary equipment during this time. This designation means the employees of Essex Brownell are designated as “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” and as such will continue to work and are allowed to travel to and from work under the state executive order to stay at home.
As a critical supplier to our customers, we will continue to provide products that are essential components of many items that are needed, especially during this critical time.
We recognize that there is a great deal of concern regarding the spread of COVID-19. The safety of our employees is first and foremost our concern and will be the primary concern during this unprecedented time. We will continue to monitor this changing situation and make adjustments based upon the safety of our employees, and adhere to state and federal mandates. As additional stay in place or travel restrictions are mandated, we will assess the essential status of our business in these states.
